(Virtual) FAQ

Virtual trivia?! What’s the point of playing trivia on a computer by myself? I don’t need you for that.

True. However the beauty of the game becomes apparent when you get to meet your team between rounds to hash out answers. We’ve had teams continue to come week after week, simply because they like shooting the shit between rounds while they shout at each other about which Beatles title is the longest.

How long is a trivia event?

Traditional length is five rounds of eight questions lasting about ninety minutes. This is all negotiable if you are interested in shorter (or even — gulp — longer!) events.

How many people can play on a team?

Most pub-trivia-type hosts take a pretty hard line on this. I write most of my questions anticipating a well-rounded team of six quizzers. This is simply a recommendation. If your event has only a dozen people, you may not be interested in a Granite State Challenge-like stand-off with your co-workers. I suppose this is a long way to say this is a flexible variable and we will work with you to find the optimum team size for your event.

How many people can play total?

Based on the technical limitations of our hosting software, we can accommodate a maximum of fifty teams. As for individual participants, we can technically handle up to 1,000 logins via Zoom, but that sounds insane and I won’t do it. For safety’s sake.

Your virtual trivia is amazing! I’ve seen all your shows! Do you do in-person events as well?

We do! We are currently offering one-off and recurring live events in the Portland (Maine!) area.
